Who Is Caroline Edson?: Books/Movies
Who Is Caroline Edson?: Books/Movies: Caroline Edson's review of Harlan Coben's Tell No One is brilliant! This is truly one of my favourite books x

Fernwood Is The Place To Be
I am the first person to admit that my days get a little crazy even if I do work from home! Between running around after dogs that would drive a saint to drink, trying to make clients happy & produce over a 100 tweets per week per client, updating facebook pages for clients not to mention their blogs & working on websites I sometimes feel there is very little "Me" time.
However, that is where Fernwood has come into my life. Me time has officially been found! Aside from going there to use their amazing machines I am loving their classes! Body Balance on a Sunday is my all time favourite. For those not in the know this is a combination of yoga, tai chi & pilates. I tell you I am so blissed out at the end of this that the only thing I have energy for is a massage & a movie day.
Now on the reverse side of this revelation is Zumba. Yeah I know most people have already tried it, but, my life having been what it has for the past couple of years I had yet to be indoctrinated into the Cult of Zumbarinas (as I was calling people in this movement). OH MY GOD is all I can say I wanted to run right out & find a party after my first taste of this new exercise craze. This has got to be the best way to start my day before tackling all the nitty gritty little things that come up when handling people's marketing portfolios.
So my tip for anyone who is feeling their energy levels slipping or you are just feeling frazzled at the end of the week...join a gym that has classes you enjoy!
Live your life to the max & get pumped!

Food Glorious Food!
Whilst music may be food for my soul nothing beats eating a good meal, except perhaps cooking an amazing meal for friends and family.
Looking back at my fondest childhood memories they have not necessarily centred around the food itself that was cooked but rather the atmosphere in preparing it and presenting it to your loved ones. As South Africans we love a good party or rather as we put it a jaul. This is not just an opportunity to get dressed up, have drinks & dance the night away. A jaul can erupt from a few friends dropping over & the next you know there is a brai happening in the backyard. Agh but the fun is in the cooking, in sharing that meal with friends.
My most recent get together of friends and family was earlier this winter when of all things we had a Soup Night. Yep you read right, soup! Now perhaps to some this would sound a bit bland & boring but I can't honestly put justice to the words trying to express how much fun was had by all.
Picture the scene of my mum & dad cooking pots of different soups, the aromas of fresh bread & loads of herbs. Our closest friends & family sitting around the house, watching the footbal & later tralling through dad's music dvd collection with two crazy puppies playing so hard they fell asleep in their dinners.
Now this may sound like a cheap & boring night to some people but I know that the memory of this evening will be with me for a long time. This night was not just about breaking the proverbial bread, this was a night filled with laughter, connecting with loved ones & simply enjoying being alive together.
My wish for all people is that they have these nights.
Enjoy your life...you only have one!

Raison D'etre
Working in the marketing industry I have always actively avoided writing a Blog for myself...after spending my days designing & updating them for clients the thought of maintaining my own was less than appealing. However, here I sit, doing the very thing I vowed never to do.
In some respects my reasons for never creating a blog have remained the same. How much value can be put in self-promotion? What is the purpose? Is having a profile on Facebook, Google, LinkedIn & Twitter enough? Or do you also need MySpace, Foursquare & Meetup? To be honest how much do people really need to know about you & your life or is it simply just another means to be free and creative?
I like to think this blog is a way for me to be free: Free to say what I want, post what I want & put my mark on the world so to speak...my own personal ongoing project allowing me to share the craziness that is me fabulous me!
